http://uk.news.yahoo.com/global-health-alert-over-antibiotics-misuse-161312158.html
the article discusses how were approaching a post-antibiotic era, which is describe as no less then the clapse of modern medicen. the day we can no longer use antibiotics many medical procedures will become unperformable. " "Among the world's 12 million cases of tuberculosis in 2010, WHO estimates that 650,000 involved multidrug-resistant TB strains." " this is talked about even further saying that even with the best of care, only a little more then 50% of these patients will survive.
i think this article does a good job describing the problems with over use of antibiotics. it also does a great job putting into perspective just how bad the problem could be and is. im also concerned with the idea that room for invention of new antibiotics is very limited.
Antibiotics will soon become so ineffective that a sore throat or grazed knee could kill, according to a warning from the World Health Organisation.
