This article says that the military is denying any plans to postpone the presidential elections, scheduled in June. This means that, so far the elections appear to be going as planned. There has also been recent violence in Egypt that has caused some people to think that it will be a reason to postpone the elections further. The official date for the military to hand over power is on June 30, and the world will be waiting to see if they military stands with their promise to hold free elections or stay in power regardless.
One significant thing I learned during this course was about the U.S. weapon sales, and how we are selling technology to future enemies, so we must out-do our own technological advancements. Also, while I knew a little about Uganda, I felt like after this class I understood better the problem there not only with Kony, but the people struggling to find sustainable jobs and income in such an underdeveloped country. Lastly, something else I learned was how the many countries are becoming overpopulated because the citizens aren't educated about children and they have poor health, so many families have several children because they know some will die. This has been a very fun and interesting class!
