There has been a rapid growth of ticks carrying Lyme disease in Canada, thought to be caused by global warming. They are said to be in 18 percent of spots east of Saskatchewan and is expected to be at 80 percent in 2020. It is said that a high population of white-tailed deer could be carrying the ticks and facilitating them within Canada. Studies show that the warmer areas in Canada, have had a more rapid growth in ticks. Ticks are found mainly in wooded areas. The early sign of Lyme disease is a circular rash at the site of the tick bite. It is often followed by fever, joint pain, head-aches, but is rarely fatal.

In studying global warming in this class, I learned that many people don't believe in global warming, or don't believe that we are causing it. I think the most interesting thing that I learned in studying global warming was how weird things like cows burping or a car charger can affect the environment so much. I already knew that global warming was happening because of gasoline but studying it more in-depth helped me learn a lot more about it. It is also strange that a slight increase in temperature can change so many things, such as an increase in ticks in Canada, or a lot of ice melting. Studying global warming made me realize what people are doing to the only planet we have.
