Mother, attorney, defend accused Tulsa shooter-Racism

http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/17/justice/oklahoma-shootings/index.html?hpt=ju_bn2

The mother of Jake England, one of the two men accused of shooting and killing three African-American men in Tulsa defended her son as a "very good kid" on Tuesday.  England's mother, Mabel Bassett, who is currently serving eighteen years for arson, said she cannot wrap her head around the fact that her son was accused of the murders.  Two days after he posted about his father's death at the hands of  f***ing n****r, England and his friend Alvin Watts went on a shooting spree.  On Monday, not guilty pleas were added in for England and Watts, who are being held without bail pending a May 30 hearing.  England's lawyer claims that, despite the post, his client is not a racist.  Growing up, England claimed, he had many friends of all races and he is not a racist.  Three calls to crime stoppers after the murders tell another story.

I think that the whole denial of Jake England being a racist is a joke.  I have been following this story since England was arrested, and I have to say that I believe he is a racist.  Posting a comment online is one thing, but posting a comment online and then killing three people you just posted a hate comment towards is just stupidity.  I believe that England and Watts will be found guilty, if they go to trial, and they will have to face life in prison for their crimes.

  1. It is disappointing to see this kind of hatred still going on in our world. It is one thing to dislike a person but its entirely different to actually kill people. I hope that he goes to prison for life for these crimes, he does not deserve to continue living happily when he ended three other peoples lives. I was surprised to read that he claimed to not be racist even though he killed three African Americans. I pity the mother because she may not have even realized that her son would do something to this magnitude, but her life is forever changed as well.

  2. I agree they should pay for their crimes. I don't beleive they should have post anything on the internet to begin with but the killing of three people is unexceptable and unforgivable.
