The Sudanese oil minister Awad al-Jaz told the world that his countries oil production will reach 180,000 barrels per day by the end of 2012. He says that there is currently 70 countries bidding on their new oil blocks, US being one of them. Shortly ago, South Sudan took over a city in Sudan that was one of Sudans major sources for oil. Sudan as of now took back Heglig, but is not telling on how much oil the town still produces. South Sudan destroyed the Heglig town costing Sudan $3 billion. The main firms that operate in Sudan are Chinese, Malaysian, and Indian. They produce a total of 115,000 bpd.
I have learned many things about oil exploration throughout the world. I have learned that the Keystone XL Pipeline has its positives and negatives. I can see why Obama would not want to pass it and I can see why the Republicas want it passed. I have also learned that many countries around the world are constantly searching for oil so they can improve their economy. Lastly, I have learned the supply and demand of oil and how it relates to the gas prices increasing and decreasing.
