In the year 2011, the U.S. sold around 35 billion dollars worth of weapons to foreign nations. Afghanistan, Taiwan, India, Australia and Saudi Arabia were top buyers for U.S. arms last year. The Pentagon said government to government sales was about 28.3 billion dollars. Foreign military sales are expected to be about 30 billion dollars for fiscal year 2012.
