The largest puppy mill ever housed 352 dogs in Allegan county Michigan. the place were the seize happened, was the only place were you didn't need a licenced to breed dogs. the total 352 dogs were, mostly shit zu's, Pomeranian, and other small dog breeds. the State doesn't have a law against Puppy mills but the animal protection group still find the ways to save the dogs, and make sure that they have a good home. the state has the share responsibilities of the puppy mills and other damage that was done. the only reason the dogs were saved, was the fact that they were caked in fesses and soaked in urine.
i feel that the state of Michigan should create a law that ordinary bredders have to get a licence to bred the dogs. if this law was to be created then more dogs would be treated better and not be in the horrible conditions. I would also want to see the animal protection group, being able to check in on the Bredders from time to time, to make sure their not puppy mills. this whole idea of a puppy mill is horrible, not only are you neglecting the dog but your pretty much leaving the dog in its own 'crap' and not even cleaning up after the dog either.
I agree with you. I would never get a dog from that place or places like it. I hope they get shut down. You just don't do that to animals.
ReplyDeleteI agree 110%. Why don't they have a law? I mean its only logical. And I mean I could never get a dog from a puppy mill do to the neglect that the breeders put those poor animal threw. I have adopted all my pets and they are great. And i could never even think of putting any one of my pets threw the horrible things they put those dogs threw. Very sad and touchy subject.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone will agree that this issue is serious and for some reason it seems to always get overlooked. After all of the work animal rights organizations and activists have done, it is sad that the government still turns away when places like this continue to be cruel to animals. This might be a little off topic, but I have heard that Teske's sometimes gets their dogs from puppy mills, and that could possibly be something to look into. (It's just a rumor though so don't take that as a fact!)
