This is not a article, but a series of articles showing the increasing hostilities between North Korea and the United Nations. Shortly after the failed test launch, North Korea announced, "if they wanted to", they could "take out the U.S. with a single blow". Many anti-U.S. demonstrations have occurred, along with anti-South Korea demonstrations. A lifelike effigy of the South Korea President Lee Myung-Bak was shown being attacked by dogs, run over by a tank, and stoned by protesters. Tensions have increased dramatically and the U.N. is sure North Korea will be conducting another test soon. We even have satellite images showing equipment being set-up for a nuclear test that could take place in the next few weeks.
I figured this would happen. Knowing how North Korea reacts, and their child-like behavior, I have a strong feeling these kind of antics would occur. I don't see much of a threat coming out of this, although the nuclear test that could be coming is something to look for. As for the military parades and anti-U.S./South Korean protests, they've been doing that for years. U.S. intelligence doesn't even think many of the rockets shown in North Korea were real, but weak mock-ups that were made quickly to get some sort of redemption. I think we should keep the pressure on them, refuse the food aid or any other aid to the country, and careful watch this nuclear test that could happen. They're weak and they know it, that's why they're trying to hard to redeem their honor, or whatever honor they have.
When I hear about things like this going on in North Korea, I start wondering about what it will be like for the people after the inevitable downfall of Kim Jong-Un's regime. Imagine being completely brainwashed into believing that every country - especially America - was plotting to kill you. Now, imagine your leaders surrendering to those countries and suddenly being told that everything you've known was a lie. I would deny it for a while, but eventually my quality of life would improve to a point that precludes any further denial and I would realize that I really was living a lie. I would feel cheated, angry, and helpless.
