Dog fighting in Pakistan
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/pakistans-canine-fighters-forced-blood-sport-055819678.html
Dog fights are the way of life for the people who live on the farms in Pakistan. the law was finally banned by the government, and was cruelty, to animals by the animal rights group. most of the people that are involved with dog fights are the rich business men that are dying to see the fight of there dogs and win the blood fight. when a dog wins the owner parades them around like their the only thing that really matters in their lives. So of the dog owners that lose say its a shame and they don't speak of it. the rules of the dogs fights are dog fights until blood drawn, death. fighting until dog runs off. and owner takes pity on dog pulls him out giving the opponent the victory.
I believe that this is wrong, to do this to the dogs. The one thing that really makes this frustrating is the fact that the Pakistan's do nothing to stop this. a man who watched his dog lost said to a reporter that he was ashamed, that he didn't want to say anything to him because of the fact that he lost. Dog fights should be stopped in Pakistan because its harming the dogs.
I believe this source is credible because it has the real spelling of how the Pakistanis would spell it. Not only the spelling but the way they talked to the reporters. Theirs no about us but it still shows the other related topics to this one. The Story has been linked to the AFP. or the international new showing that it has a good credible source.

Animal cruelty is terrible. It is unfortunate the U.S. has little influence over stopping it on an international scale. Its good that Pakistan banned it, other countries will hopefully follow their lead. While banning it may not eliminate it, it will reduce dog-fighting for sure.
ReplyDeleteDog fighting is inhumane, and its cruel, I have a Yorkie and I would never do that to him. If only they had cable or knew of Michael Vick who I have forgiven but he sat in jail for almost 2 years for dog fighting, so in the end it needs to be stopped world wide.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like people have nothing better to do... I mean they sit there and complain that they have all these problems, but yet here they are just throwing animals at each other for amusment, i mean do they have nothing else that could be done!? Either way I'm right on with you, stop the pointless abuse!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine people that participate in dog fights so easily and willingly in Pakistan because there are such strict laws against it here. Even with a law banning it, I'm sure it will still take some time to crack down on the animal cruelty because people can still do it secretly and illegally like I'm sure it happens even in America. Are there any animal rights organizations currently at work in that area? If not, is there any way that some of the American organizations could try to have some influence on the government to take more action to stop the cruelty?
