The loss of the Polar Bears Habitat

http://www.nwf.org/Wildlife/Wildlife-Library/Mammals/Polar-Bear.aspx

Polar bears are in danger of going extinct do to the loss of their habitat; do to global warming. The rising temperature is causing the sea ice to melt; this happens especially during the summer months when polar bears are most active. Now, they are having to swim farther distances to find food and land/shelter. Another reason they are having to leave their habitat is because their main food source, the seals, are not coming because their is no land for them to rest on. The National Wildlife Federation is starting a new program to help the polar bears and other wildlife by reducing our carbon pollution.

I think this is very sad that the polar bears are loosing their habitat. I hate to think about the babies who have to swim to find new homes because baby polar bears are not very good swimmers until they are in their teens. I have heard that most polar bears are heading to Alaska where they are coexisting and sometimes mating with grizzly bears. I hope the NWF can help these animals and allow more of them to stay in there natural environment.

  2. What would the NWF do to help the polar bears? Besides talking to people about helping the environment and donating money to help, what else can they do to save these polar bear's habitats.
