This article is about the recent earthquake that occured in mexico. There were tons of damages, yet there were no deaths. According to civil protection officials, the reason there were no deaths was because of where and how the earthquake hit. Because of all the earthquakes that have happened in the past throughout mexico, the building codes are getting better with each one. Less and less houses are colapsing because of this.
I believe other places that have had multiple disasters, similar to this situation, should maybe consider using better building codes also. Although it might be a costly proccess to start out with, it will all be worth it in the end... And if there were to be another disaster, it would actually end up saving money! I think its good that mexico is learning from their past and trying to fix these problem for the better and safety of the people.
This is fantastic! I am surprised that a 7.4 earthquake did not kill anyone and it makes me happy. I'm glad that less and less buildings and houses are being brought down by these earthquakes.
ReplyDeleteThis is great that Mexico is finally learning how to build durable buildings. It is also great that nobody ended up dying in a 7.4 earthquake. Hopefully, they can also prevent future earthquakes.
ReplyDeleteWhat I've learned about people is that whenever there's a chance for disaster, our governments usually just wait until a disaster happens before they do anything to prevent or intervene with it. A good example is WWII, which we avoided until Pearl Harbor. The same can be said for global warming and illegal immigration, both of which I believe will bring about serious problems in the near future.
ReplyDeleteThats great that Mexico is stepping up its building codes. If they could only do this with its drug problems Mexico might not be a third world nation. It is also awesome that there were no deaths with a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. Ususally there are more deaths.
