Pentagon plans $60 billion weapons sale to Saudi Arabia

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/20/AR2010102006518.html?hpid=topnews

This article talks about wanting to sell $60 billion dollars worth of advanced aircraft's and weapons to Saudi Arabia. This trade will include the fallowing; helicopters, fighter jets, radar equipment and satellite-guided bombs.  This trade will be the largest in U.S. history. But it could take five to ten years to complete this deal due to production and training.

Regardless of how much people say this will be good for our country in the aspect of boosting support with Arab allies, I do not think that it will be good in the long run. I think we should just keep all our weapons till we know for sure we have something way better just in case they rebel. Because if they rebel and we don't have more advanced weapons then we could stand a larger chance of loosing.

  1. I agree with you that this could really back fire in our face, were giving a country that we do not trust better weapons and technology that they could use against us later in life. This is not a smart decision especially because they can easily rebel and strike us with our own supplies.
