Uganda Village Burned (from witch docs?)

http://www.newvision.co.ug/news/628841-jinja-fires-raze-18-homes-witchdoctors-blamed.html

So it turns out not everyone is in support of these witch doctors! (Which of course is good news). Although it may be good news to us, its bad news to the witch doctors. At total of 18 houses were burned in a huge roaring fire within a small village in Uganda. When interviewed, the people were stating that the spirits burned their houses due to them not making sacrifices and others saying its because the witch doctors live in their village. The report indicates that the investigation is finding the witch doctors to be a huge suspect in this mysterious fire.

My reaction to this port is a little un-even. I won't/can't say what really started the fire, if it was the witch doctors, or spirits, or maybe kony did it, who knows!? The fact though that people are believing what the witch doctor tells them is to me concerning. I mean you would think after a period of time of no 'wishes' being granted, and instead having your houses burned down, you would realize that... this isn't working out, to say the least. Besides all out, I just hope justice is served to those who started the fire.

The article is on a pretty legit site I think. I went through it and basically its all about Uganda! Their motto is "Uganda's Leading Daily". Most articles are about Uganda and whats going on in their country. Besides of course the section bout international news. There wasn't an 'About Me' section, but from what I learned, I believe that it's from Uganda itself!

  1. That is pretty crazy that a village was totally burned down by witch doctors, but I suppose it demonstrates what others from around the world often deal with. It is unfortunate that they have to have that struggle in their lives.

  2. I actually went and read the article in order to get a better understanding of what you were saying and to me it seems like these people are a little bit crazy. But I also have just realized that it's not just the witch doctors that believe in spirits and what not but the people of Africa also do. They don't find it hard to believe at all that spirits set their houses on fire. And then they consulted the witch doctors to see what they thought. So do they see the doctors kind of as elders of a village? It seems a little strange to me.

  3. Its terrible that these witch doctors burnt down a whole village. And its upsetting to know how self centered some people are when it comes to their own beliefs. It sounds like these witch doctors ideas are just resulting in disasters!

  4. I am having an extremely hard time believing the a whole village was burned to the ground in Uganda due to witch doctors. Uganda is a war torn country with a non-existing government and crazy military. If I had to guess who did this, I would guess the military. They have a record of doing this sort of thing randomly or premeditated. They are a little bit crazy over their in Uganda.
