U.S. Weapons Sales

http://elpidiovaldes.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/10-companies-profiting-most-from-war/

This website talks briefly about the top 100 military companies in the war, of which the U.S. consists of 44 of them, yet is responsible for over 60% of the revenue. It then goes into further detail of the top 10 U.S. weapons contractors, which lists the part of the military that these contractors appeal to, be it communications and surveillance  or fighter jets and assault rifles. Not only are recently produced fighter jets being sold to other countries, but sales are rising in all categories. Since 2002, the selling of military equipment and technology has risen by 60%.

  1. Holy crap! 60% of the revenue out of 44 companies is way too much! How much money does this make these companies and does it help our economy at all?! This needs to stop unless it is a big part of our economy!

  2. I think it is bad that we are one of the top weapon exports since we are always trying to promote peace. I feel like that is a bit of a contradiction. Also why would we sell other countries fighter jets? Hopefully they are not of the same model we use in our military, because if it is then the enemy now knows our weaknesses.

  3. I believe we should stop selling so many weapons to other countries because we are causing wars throughout a variety of countries. I wonder why we sell our fighter jets to countries that could use these to attack us. This just doesn't make sense to me at all.

  4. I want to know where all of the money from weapons sales goes! It seems hard to believe that the economy can be suffering as much as it is when there are still booming industries like this around. It's selfish for the executives to keep putting our country in danger because they want money. If a world war eventually breaks out again and destroys everything, their money won't even matter anyways.
